Crowne Plaza Hotel Foster City – Hotel Overview

My boyfriend and I had our first staycation ever on the Peninsula – just half an hour away from where we live in San Jose. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. This 3 star hotel is conveniently located off Highway 92, only 15 minutes away from the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) .

It is the perfect location for visitors to the Bay Area for work and/or play that plan to explore all neighboring cities!

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is about 30 minutes from Half Moon Bay to the west, 32 minutes to the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco to the north, 37 minutes to the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, and 30 minutes to East Bay in the east via Highway 92 crossing the bay.

Its prime location makes it the ideal base to make day trips all around the Bay Area and it is only minutes away from major Silicon Valley companies and a variety of Bay Area attractions.

The most impressive part of the hotel is their spacious lobby interior with garden atrium. The palm trees give the space tropical resort vibes and the big windows allow natural light to illuminate the entire lobby and dining area.

The Room

Our corner suite was very spacious with ample lighting. It was furnished with a king bed, sofa and cocktail table, as well as a little kitchenette with a mini counter with bar stools, a sink, fridge, and microwave! For a more thorough room tour, watch my Instagram reel here.

Dining options:

Crowne Plaza Hotel features two restaurants on their property for your convenience, both serving a mix of Californian American and Asian style dishes.

1. Cafe Florian

The Cafe Florian in the garden atrium is the perfect spot for breakfast and dinner. In addition to a daily breakfast buffet and classic Californian lunches, they have a special dining experience on Sundays. On Sundays, they serve a Champagne Brunch Buffet for $55 per person. Yes, I know it’s on the price range of Las Vegas buffets but it’s really so worth it, especially if you start with a plate of the meaty and tender crab legs!

You can’t miss this, there isn’t a brunch buffet experience better than this one in the Bay Area! It’s practically a Las Vegas style buffet – they have a variety of delicious entrees featuring Californian-American and Asian favorites with super fresh seafood selections.

From carved specialties like roasted prime rib to popular Chinese stir fries, fresh oysters and chilled crab, salads, custom breakfast favorites like omelets and waffles, as well as assorted desserts – there is something for everyone, or everything for you! My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail shrimp and tasty crab legs among everything else. The crab legs were the best we’ve ever had – so plump and tender!

2. The Clubhouse Bistro

The Clubhouse Bistro is open from 4pm to 11pm and features a nightclub with a cocktail lounge and bistro restaurant. Book a party here. Check out their menu here. It’s a convenient place to grab a tasty snack before or after dinner even if you’re not interested in clubbing.

The Pool

There is also an indoor pool with lounge chairs which is such a nice perk! The part that connects to the garden atrium has panels of glass that reminds me of a greenhouse and I love the addition of plants and trees that give the space a relaxing ambiance.
